Contents
The short version
Shloop does not require a consumer account. Your tasting records, photos, places, saved items, and taste summaries are stored on your device and are not uploaded to Shloop for sync, server backup, hosted public sharing, or server recommendations.
The app still uses network services for public content, maps, external sources, and advertising. Usage analytics and crash diagnostics are separate choices. This website has no advertising or visitor analytics.
What stays on your device
Structured records are stored in an encrypted local database. Photos and certain settings use the app's private device storage and rely on device and platform protections.
Operating-system backup or device transfer may create another copy. A restorable Shloop backup is password-encrypted and excludes photos. A readable export is not encrypted and may include photos. Directly shared photos may retain metadata.
What leaves your device
- Public Shloop requests: IP address and ordinary request details such as time, requested resource, app version, platform, language, and response status.
- Advertising: Google Mobile Ads may process IP address, approximate location, app and ad interactions, diagnostics, and device or advertising identifiers to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud.
- Optional diagnostics: if enabled, Firebase Analytics receives bounded feature-use and app/device information, while Predefy's self-hosted Sentry receives a limited failure category and app environment. Shloop does not intentionally send note text, names, search terms, precise coordinates, file paths, photos, raw errors, or stack traces.
- Maps and external sources: Google may receive a place query, current coordinates, or map context. An RSS or other external publisher receives the IP address and request information needed to return its content.
- Support: if you contact us, we receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send.
Why we use it
We use request information to deliver public content and configuration, maintain compatibility, protect the Service, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, answer support requests, and meet legal obligations.
Google and its partners use advertising information to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. Optional analytics helps us understand bounded feature use. Optional crash diagnostics helps us identify app failures. We do not use your tasting content to build a Shloop account or server-side taste profile.
Your choices
Advertising is separate from diagnostics. On iOS, App Tracking Transparency controls access to the advertising identifier; ads may still appear when tracking is denied. Android provides advertising-ID controls in device settings.
Usage analytics and crash diagnostics can be changed independently in App info. A new installation may show the proposed choices as on, but neither sends data until you save the choices. Turning a choice off stops future app-authorized collection; information already sent may remain under Predefy's or the applicable provider's retention rules.
You can avoid optional maps, place search, RSS, external links, exports, and sharing by not using them. A network feature cannot work without the technical request information needed to deliver it.
Retention, deletion, and sharing
Local content remains until you delete it, replace it through restore, or remove it with app or device controls. Shloop keeps no server backup of that content. Device backups, transfers, exports, recipients, and storage providers may keep separate copies.
We keep service and security records only while needed for delivery, security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, or legal obligations, then delete or de-identify them. Support messages remain until the request and required follow-up are complete unless law requires longer retention.
Predefy, external providers, and destinations you choose apply their respective retention rules. Disabling diagnostics does not automatically delete information already held by Predefy or an external provider. Once you share or export a copy, Shloop cannot control or recover it.
Providers and international processing
Google supports ads, optional Firebase Analytics, maps, place search, and app distribution. Predefy operates Sentry itself for optional crash diagnostics. Cloudflare helps deliver and protect the website. Apple supports app distribution and platform services. External publishers receive requests directly from your device.
Relevant information may be processed outside Korea, including by Google LLC in the United States and other Google processing locations; Cloudflare, Inc. in the United States and its global network; Apple and regional affiliates; or an external publisher in its operating country. They process and retain information under their settings, contracts, and published policies. Self-hosted diagnostics follow Predefy's deployed infrastructure and retention settings.
Security and important risks
We use reasonable safeguards including local database encryption, encrypted transport, data minimization, and restricted diagnostic payloads.
No app, device, server, network, or storage system is completely secure. Shloop cannot recover local records from a server, guarantee that a backup will restore, remove a copy already shared, or control an external provider's security or availability. Protect your device, backup password, and readable files.
Your rights and children's privacy
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, receive, object to, restrict, or withdraw consent for processing. You control local content in the app, diagnostics in App info, and platform privacy or advertising choices in device settings.
The Service is not directed to children. Users must meet marketplace age requirements and any stricter legal age that applies to the Service's tasting content.

Changes and third-party policies
We may update this Policy and will revise the Last updated date. Where a change requires consent, we will ask separately.
