Agreement and eligibility
By using Shloop (the Service), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must meet the age required by your app marketplace and any stricter legal age that applies to the Service's tasting content where you live.
What Shloop provides
Shloop is a local-first tasting notebook for recording, organizing, searching, exporting, and reviewing your own records. Consumer use does not require an account.
The Service may use a network connection for public Shloop content, maps and place search, external sources, advertising, and diagnostics you separately enable. Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed without promising a particular future feature.
Your content and local storage
You own the content you create or attach and are responsible for having the right to use it. Avoid adding information you do not need or do not have permission to store.
Structured records are kept in an encrypted local database. Photos and certain settings use the app's private device storage and depend on device and platform protections. Shloop does not upload your records for account sync, server backup, hosted public sharing, or server recommendations.
Shloop has no server copy from which to recover local records. Device loss, app removal, a failed restore, or an operating-system backup or transfer can result in loss or additional copies outside Shloop's control.
Backups, exports, and sharing
A restorable Shloop backup is password-encrypted and excludes photo files. A readable export is not encrypted, may include photos, and removes location coordinates and photo EXIF metadata. A photo shared directly from the app may retain its original metadata.
You choose the destination and recipient. Protect backup passwords and readable files. Once another person, app, or storage provider receives a copy, Shloop cannot control, revoke, or recover it.
Ads, external services, and suggestions
The mobile app shows banner, native, and rewarded ads. A rewarded ad may hide ads for the period shown in the app. Advertising depends on Google, platform privacy choices, device settings, and network availability.
Google Maps features are also subject to the Google Terms of Service, Google Maps End User Additional Terms, and Google Privacy Policy. External publishers and services apply their own terms and may change or stop their content.
Taste summaries and suggestions are for discovery only. They are not health, safety, purchasing, legal, or other professional advice, and their accuracy, suitability, completeness, or availability is not guaranteed.
Acceptable use
Do not break the law or another person's rights, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with security, abuse public or external-content endpoints, or use the Service for harassment, threats, fraud, or other unlawful activity.
Service changes and availability
We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Service for operational, security, legal, technical, or provider-related reasons.
The Service and external content may be delayed, unavailable, incomplete, or discontinued. Keep your own backup of anything you need.
Intellectual property
The Service's software, interface, design, branding, trademarks, and related materials belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works except as permitted by law.
Copyright reports may be sent to [email protected].
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or recoverable operation.
You are responsible for decisions based on your records, ratings, suggestions, maps, or external content. No security, storage, device, network, or recovery method eliminates every risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, content, profits, goodwill, or opportunity. This limitation applies only where applicable law permits it.
Changes, governing law, and venue
We may update these Terms and will revise the Last updated date. Except where law requires explicit consent, continued use after an update means acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be handled by courts with jurisdiction under Korean law unless applicable law provides otherwise.
